Overview[]
A rod is a basic force weapon. Essentially this is a classic wizard's staff with a futuristic makeover. They have a simple melee attack and allow the use of techniques. Their stats tend to be better than similar talis models, but lack the range of the talis' melee attacks. Rod type weapons can only be equipped by forces.
Mika's Advice[]
At present, there are only really two real force weapons, the rod and the talis. You can use both or adopt one exclusively. How to decide? Well if you are wanting a battle wizard type of character or like to club monsters between techniques, then a rod is the way to go. It is a simple, straight forward kind of weapon unlike a talis. By contrast, a talis is more complex and can be tricky at times, but it allows so much more than a rod. They allow me to keep my distance from enemies and cast techniques around corners even. As we forces don't hold up so well under direct fire, distance is very healthy. The Talis is the only weapon I use, but it is not for everyone. Use the weapon that fits your style.
